The golf course is at Pendyia and was formerly
that of the Cyprus Mining Company. It has been much improved
of late by an enthusiastic membership and has nine
holes. It is a fabulous location, positioned at the
sea's edge, the Troodos range to the south and the
Kyrenia range to the North are always in view. The course itself is not quite in the same league as the view,
par is 34 and the greens are browns. It is an opportunity
for the keen golfer to add his collection of courses and
experiences whilst the course is usually empty enough for the
beginner not to worry about holding up the better players. The
green fee is £10 per day (£5 if accompanied by a member ) and
clubs, shoes etc can be hired for a very small fee. Soles of
shoes have to be smooth when walking on the browns. There
is a very good fish restaurant nearby for lunch. |
